Very good condition A5 mandolin hand built by Dale Ludewig in Dekalb, IL. Dale paired high quality Quilted Maple 1-piece back, sides and neck with a carved Sitka Spruce top with a beautiful wine red burst gloss finish, Ebony fretboard, adjustable bridge and custom pickguard. There is a fine finish crack in the gloss Nitrocellulose finish on the top going down to the left of the fretboard. This is not a crack in the wood and poses no issue.

Dale Ludewig’s shop is in what was the Wurlitzer piano factory in DeKalb, IL. Wurlitzer built organs and pianos in this building for over 100 years before leaving about 1970. His shop has been there since 1976, and he carries on the tradition of building musical instruments in the old building.
