APOLLO (USA) Mike Marshall Pick 1

Apollo has created my dream pick! -MM — This pick was created in collaboration with the mandolin virtuoso, Mike Marshall… aka "Gator!"

Nik Monnin: Back to the pick… I didn’t just make this pick for Mike. I’d have to say that “we” created it! Over the course of about 8 months, I’d send picks over to his home in Wuppertal, Germany. He’d use them for a few weeks then provide feedback on how they were working out. We tested different materials, slight variations in size, subtleties to the rounded edge etc... I learned a lot from Mike about how much small details matter. Mandolins have a inherently bright voice and Mike likes his picks to darken things up a bit. This black material does that, but it also provides a very articulate sound with presence in the mids and high-end. The material that we selected for this pick is (glass-filled PEI). If you click on the “Shapes” link, above, you can see that shape, compared to a quarter. The listed price is for one pick. Last but not least, the “MM” on the front of this pick was penned by esteemed calligraphy artist, John Stevens, of North Carolina. I think you are going to like this one quite a bit!
